a5c7b9f00b With the Ancients' city of Atlantis discovered in the Pegasus Galaxy by Stargate Command, Dr. Elizabeth Weir and Major Sheppard lead a scientific expedition to the ancient abandoned city. Once there, the team not only find themselves unable to contact Earth, but their explorations unexpectedly reawaken the Ancients' deadly enemies, The Wraith, who hunger for this new prey. Now with the help of newfound local allies like Teyla Emmagan, the Atlantis Team sets about to uncover their new home's secrets eventheir war of survival against the Wraith begins. An international team of scientists and military personnel discover a Stargate network in the Pegasus Galaxy and come face-to-face with a new, powerful enemy, The Wraith. Thou it is a spin off of the series Stargate Sg1 it is becoming an excellent sci-fi series. It Takes Place in the Ancient's City of Atlantis that is actually an intercalative Spaceship. When people form earth come to the city it is almost out of power to hold the ocean above from flooding the city and so on I say watch it and see where this series will go. The people of the city incounter a Galaxy that has been under the control of a race called the Wraith that suck the life right out of you ( yes it is kinda lame) thou more recently a new and more powerful threat shows up. It is a race of nanobots that have shaped themselves in the form of their creators the Ancients. They have the same technologythe ancients and therefore are a massive threat to earth and all man kind. Suffers from the same problemmost American TV shows, since each episode has different writers and directors the characters are hugely inconsistent. Many of the episodes employ done to death clichés that are more or less ripped straight out of other shows, others are just painful to watch.

Considering that most of the characters are meant to be very intelligent the plot is almost exclusively driven by their idiotic failures and mistakes. Most of the problems and threats that occur have obvious solutions and yet the character that is meant to be some prodigal genius only comes to these conclusions, conveniently, by the end of the episode. As such most of the time just feels like fillerthe characters bumble about making mistakes. When at last the obvious solution is arrived upon it is spelled out in painstaking detail for the viewer, treating themif they are incapable of grasping even the most simple facts.

A few episodes have genuinely good twists and plots but most are transparently predictable. That said it is watchable for the most part and the underlying plot that runs throughout is good enough. Again, like most American shows, it could do with having halfmany episodes per series, butusual it's quantity over quality…
